AboutIgraduated from Edinburgh College of Art with a BA Hons in Drawing and Painting in 2006.I work and live in Scotland and I am interested in both representational and abstract artwork. My current body of work is inspired by the Scottish landscape and prominently features trees.
The paintings are acrylic on canvas and comprise of ambiguous colours with fine detailed silhouettes of trees. I do this to help portray a sense of atmosphere and to show that trees can be both elegant as well as dramatic. I am inspired by going to the countryside and studying how the trees move, the colours of the foliage and skies and how I become emotionally involved.
I love the peace and tranquillity that the countryside gives me and want my paintings to evoke a sense of personal experience for the viewer and inspire them to go and enjoy the landscape for themselves.
